
The Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education program supports schools and early learning services to take action towards reconciliation between non-Indigenous and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Narragunnawali is a word from the language of the Ngunnawal people, meaning alive, wellbeing, coming together and peace. It is used with permission of the United Ngunnawal Elders Council.

This practice resource - Working with Aboriginal people and communities is a guide for all Community Services and relevant non-government organisation
(NGO) staff, particularly field staff.
It has been developed to improve service delivery to Aboriginal people by providing staff with key facts, and information relevant to working with Aboriginal communities in NSW. This resource will help us become more culturally aware and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal people and communities.

This document showcases the 95 new content elaborations for the Australian Curriculum: Science (Foundation to Year 10) that address the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority. It also provides the accompanying teacher background information for each of the elaborations from Years 7 -10 to support secondary teachers in planning and teaching the science curriculum.

In this activity, students will explore what Country/place means to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They watch the Play school episode ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ to help them to understand the significance of Country/place and to build a personal sense of responsibility for respecting the environment around them. Students are encouraged to become aware of and appreciate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions to sustainable Land management. They then explore ideas of how they too could help to care for Country.
